- The final briefing session was held on the results of the Research Project on Advanced Industry Convergence Belt Linked to Cheongju International Airport - On June 25, CBfez held the final briefing session on the results of the Research Project on Advanced Industry Convergence Belt Linked to Cheongju International Airport at the Chungcheongbuk-do office. This research project was intended to establish development plans for strengthening the competitive edge of advanced industries, creating living conditions, expanding the transportation network, activating Cheongju Airport, and securing a linkage system for CBfez to develop into the best convergence center of the IT, BT, and ET industries in Korea. At the briefing session attended by Governor Kim Young-hwan, researchers from the Chungbuk Research Institute, related experts, Director General Maeng Gyeong-jae of CBfez, and related public officials, there was a discussion on the concept of a specialized inland advanced industry convergence belt for industrial linkage through an analysis of the industrial ecosystem of Osong, Ochang, and Oksan, which are the areas surrounding Cheongju International Airport. “I would like to ask for your interest and cooperation so that we can plan a convergence-centered belt for advanced industries in the Chungcheong region based on this research project,” Governor Kim said, and added, “We will strive to maximize the economic ripple effect of Cheongju International Airport and the surrounding areas by promoting convergence development in a systematic way.” |
